BC Day long weekend

We kicked off BC Day long weekend with a Saturday market at the UBC Farm. The weather was gorgeous and many showed up at the farm for fresh produce and pretty flower bouquets, all grown inside the UBC Farm.

The UBC Farm market happens every Saturday during the summer from 9am to 1pm, and people usually arrive well ahead of time, lining up for fresh produce and chicken eggs. Besides from fresh produce and chicken eggs, you can spend the morning walking around the farm, admiring pretty fields filled with flowers and vegetables. Better yet, join the folks at the farm for a farm tour and see all the pretty sites inside this hidden gem that, we are doing our best to preserve from all the growing city developments for everyone to enjoy.

Happy Long Weekend!

Happy Birthday Shona!

Hehehe, this cake was supposed to be a part of a surprise birthday party for our friend Shona from Sweet Earth Photographics. I think it is always such a sweet thing when our loved ones, among all the busyness, arrange something special for a special occasion! A big cheer to Shona's husband Ryan and a big happy birthday to Shona, I hope you all enjoyed the cake!

A very special wedding indeed

This past weekend, we attended our friend Alexandra and Maddy's wedding. I met Alexandra when we were both in high school and she was one of first friends after I moved to Vancouver from England. I'm so honoured to be a part of her very special day and most importantly, to make her a cake for her big day!

The wedding took place at Alexandra's parents' house. The house was decorated beautifully throughout, everywhere you look, the decorations really reflect who Alexandra is.

To Alexandra and Maddy: Thank you for such a lovely afternoon and the bestest wishes to you both for this new chapter of your lives, we are so happy for you!

A long, overdue post

It's been a while since our last post. Our little business and personal life are both keeping me really busy and finally I've managed to steal some time to do a short post and share some "old news" with you all.

Back in February (if I recall correctly!), I was approached by the managing editor of Vancouver's own Real Weddings Magazine to participate in a feature they were doing for their 10th anniversary issue. The feature was totally down our alley, a dessert table that was to be simple, soft and romantic. For the feature, we contributed our mini bundt cakes and cake pops. Luckily, you don't have to be getting married to get your hands on some of these goodies! Our mini bundt cakes are available when we attend the farmers markets.

Until next post, stay sweet!
